Your Journey Could Help Someone Else Begin Theirs.
Moving to regional Australia is a decision people make with incomplete information. If you have already done it, your firsthand account is worth more than another summary of visa categories.
Submissions are not yet being collected. This page shows the form design and the consent process that will apply.
What we are looking for
Specific and honest, not promotional
The most useful accounts describe the ordinary details: the housing search, the job interview, the first winter, the things nobody mentioned.
- What you moved for, and roughly when
- The occupation and region you moved into
- What surprised you in the first year
- What you wish you had researched beforehand
- Practical advice you would give someone in your position
What we never ask for
Identity documents, visa grant letters, application numbers, medical records, employer contracts or financial statements. A short written summary is all we need to start.
Consent and publication
How contributions are handled
These points form the basis of the contributor agreement. The full agreement will be confirmed before submissions open.
- You keep the copyright in your story and can withdraw permission before publication.
- We edit for clarity and length, then send you the edit to review before it goes live.
- We publish the date the story was recorded so readers know when it applied.
- We do not publish your email address or any document you send us.
- We never pay for contributions, and we never promise a favourable account.
- Stories are individual experience, not migration advice, and are labelled as such.
RegionalOZ is collecting these accounts for an editorial series. Contributions may be edited, scheduled or declined, and no publication timeline is guaranteed.
